Assessments may be discontinued in one of two ways:
- The student couldn't pass the practice for the assessment by answering practice problems correctly. (This does not apply to Oral Language or Alphabet Knowledge I.)
- The teacher chose the Quit Assessment option after noting that the student was struggling.
For all assessments except for Oral Language and Alphabet Knowledge I, practice is failed when one of these things happens:
- If the student answers the first practice item incorrectly or doesn't respond, the student gets another chance to answer that item. If the student answers incorrectly or doesn't respond the second time, the test is discontinued.
- The same is true of the second practice item. If the student has answered the first item correctly, but answers the second item incorrectly or does not respond after two attempts, the test is discontinued.
If you believe the student is ready to try again later in the screening window, you can deactivate the discontinued assessment. After that, you can start a new assessment for the student.
