District administrators can use this preference to choose:
- whether audio may be recorded for Star CBM assessments, and
- how long audio files are retained in the software if recordings are allowed
Only Online and Mixed format assessments may be recorded, and teachers and administrators must choose to record as they start the assessments. Teachers and administrators can also use the Star CBM - Record Audio preference to choose whether assessments may be recorded for each individual student (if recording is allowed by this district preference).
How to get to this preference
To get to the Star CBM - Audio Recordings preference page, follow these steps:
- On the Home page, select your initials in the top right corner. Then, choose Edit Preferences from the menu that opens.
- Select Star CBM - Audio Recordings under the District Preferences on the Preferences page.
Choosing the Setting for Each School
Who can do this with default user permissions?
District-level administrators
In the row for each school, choose a setting. The first four options allow Star CBM assessments to be recorded, and they set how long those recordings are kept in the software: 2 years, 1 year, 6 months, or 90 days. The last setting does not allow recording of audio. If you change the setting, note that the change only affects recordings that were made after the setting change; it does not affect recordings that have already been made while a different setting was in place.
If you prefer to use the same setting for all schools, first, select Set All above the table.
Then, in the window that opens, choose a setting. Select Apply to All.
When you've finished choosing the preference settings, select Save Changes. Then, select < Back to go back to the list of preferences.
