How do I get to this page?
- On the Home page:
- Renaissance Next: Select Star in the left-hand sidebar, then select SAEBRS.
- Legacy Mode: Select the SAEBRS tile.
- In the SAEBRS Record Book, use the School, Class or Group, and Student drop-down lists to choose which students to view.
- In the row for a student, three blue dots will be shown in the Teacher column if you have not completed a teacher assessment for that student; select the blue dots, and then select Start Assessment in the pop-up window. (Note: Assessments can only be taken by lead teachers, and only during the current district screening window.)
Who can do this with default user permissions?
Teachers (lead teachers only, for any student in one of their own classes or groups)
The evaluation items in the teacher's SAEBRS assessment have the same subscales as those in the student's mySAEBRS assessment (Social Behavior, Academic Behavior, and Emotional Behavior), with one exception: in the Social subscale, there is no item corresponding to the student's "Other people like me" item. This is a reputational identity item which is best judged on a self-assessment and not by a teacher. This is why the mySAEBRS assessment has 20 items and the SAEBRS assessment has only 19.
- Using the scale provided (Never, Sometimes, Often, or Always), mark the radio button corresponding to how often the student displayed each listed behavior in the previous month.
- You can change a response by selecting a different one.
- Make sure you enter a response for every assessment item; the Submit Assessment button will not be available until a response is entered for every item.
- As you enter responses, the scores at the bottom (Total Items, Total Score, Social Score, Academic Score, and Emotional Score) will automatically update.
In this example, the teacher has entered 10 responses so far (all 6 from the Social subscale and the first 4 from the Academic subscale)—point values for each item have been tallied and added up. - To clear all entries you have made and start over for the same student, select Clear All at the bottom of the page.
- To make any notes in the assessment, select Add Note at the bottom of the page. This will open a pop-up window where you can enter a note (up to 500 characters) and then select Save Note.
- Once you have finished making all of your entries, select Submit Assessment at the bottom of the page.
- To delete the assessment, select Discard Assessment at the bottom of the page. (You can also delete an assessment from the SAEBRS record book; see below.)
The results of both the student's mySAEBRS assessment and your own SAEBRS assessment can be viewed in the SAEBRS Record Book and in greater detail in the Group Screening Report .
Deleting an Assessment from the SAEBRS Record Book
- Log into Renaissance; on the Home page, select the SAEBRS tile.
- In the SAEBRS Record Book, use the School, Class or Group, and Student drop-down lists to choose which students to view.
- In the row for a student, the score will be shown for a student with a completed assessment; select the score (in the Teacher column for a SAEBRS assessment or the Student column for a mySAEBRS assessment), and then select Delete Teacher Assessment or Delete Student Assessment in the pop-up window. (Note: You cannot delete a teacher assessment and keep the teacher notes, or vice-versa: deleting the assessment also deletes any notes.)
