Star Phonics is a technology-based Phonics Screener and Diagnostic Assessment that helps teachers understand precisely where to intervene and what to teach individual students, small groups, and whole classes. Used in grades K-6+, Star Phonics is administered one-on-one in as little as 2-5 minutes. The Star Phonics screener assessment measures 12 essential phonics categories, while Star Phonics diagnostic assessments measure 102 specific phonics skills.
For an introduction to Star Phonics, see Meet Star Phonics.
Star Phonics aligns with Common Core State Standards and with specific school and district curricula. Your school or district chose the alignment to use as part of your purchase of a Star Phonics license. If you are not using a custom alignment, the Star Phonics Universal Scope and Sequence is used instead.
