Marking periods (quarters, semesters, etc.) are used to indicate the duration of a class when that class is created. Marking periods are also available when you generate reports, and they are used when you set goals.
- You do not need to add a marking period that lasts the entire school year—the entire school year is automatically included as a marking period.
- You must add marking periods for which you plan to set goals.
- You can add or edit marking periods in the current school year or a future school year.

- Select the Date Range field and enter start and end dates for the marking period, either by typing them in the date fields or selecting them from the scrollable calendars .
