Set Goal Page

On the Set a Goal page, you can set reading and math Star goals for the selected students.

How to Get to the Set a Goal Page

If you aren't already on the Set a Goal page, on the Home page, select Star Reading, Star Early Literacy, Star Math, or Star Spanish; then, select Manage Goals & Benchmarks.

Then, on the Goals & Benchmarks page, select Set a Goal.

How to Set a Goal

District-level administrators can set goals for all classes and students at all schools. School-level administrators can set goals for all classes and students at their schools. Teachers can set goals for their classes and students. Other staff cannot view or set goals unless they have been granted more permissions.

Follow these steps:

1. On the Set a Goal page, use the School , Class , and Students drop-down lists to choose which students to set the goal for.
   
   
   • You can only choose a single school or class at a time; if you only have access to a single school or class, you will not need to make a selection.
   • For students, you can use the Select All / Clear All link at the bottom of the drop-down list to check or uncheck all the students at once.
   • You can only set Star goals for classes that have at least one of the following products assigned: Star Early Literacy, Star Early Literacy Spanish, Star Math, Star Math Spanish, Star Reading, and/or Star Reading Spanish.
   • To set reading practice goals for the quizzes that students take in Accelerated Reader, see Accelerated Reader Goals (Record Book). To set reading certification goals, see Accelerated Reader Certifications (Record Book).
2. Next, after "Type of goal," use the first drop-down list to choose the goal category: Reading, Reading Spanish, Math, or Math Spanish.
   
3. Use the second drop-down list to choose the type of goal that you want to set.
   
   

   These types of goals are available:

   For customers in Mississippi: The setting of the Star Scale Transition Preference determines whether Scaled Score Enterprise is an available goal type.

   For all other customers: After the 2023–2024 school year, only the Star Unified scale is available; the Star Scale Transition Preference will no longer be in the program, and Scaled Score Enterprise goals will no longer be available.
