You can use the Student drop-down list at the top of the page to switch to another student you have access to. (If you want to change the school or class, select Class View go back to the Class View.)
- Information for the selected student is shown on this page. As with the class view, you will choose how to compare the student's performance.
Above the table, select Show Chart to see a chart displaying the student's Percentile Rank (PR) for every Star Lectura and Star Reading assessment they have taken in the current school year, up to and including those in the latest time frame. (When the chart is visible, the button will change to Hide Chart; select it to hide the chart.) Each of the gray columns represents one-third of the school year, with "Beginning of school year" on the left and "End of school year" on the right.
The example above is a very simple chart for one student, Adam Douglas. The report was run near the end of the school year; during the year, he took six Star Lectura assessments (two in each time frame) and three Star Reading assessments (one in each time frame).
Each dot represents an assessment, with the PR's numerical value below it. The scale on the left shows the district benchmarks so you can see which category the student's PR placed them in at the time; horizontal colored lines show the minimum proficiency levels. You can hover over a dot to see the scores for the assessment and the date it was taken: - In the area on the left, you can select Scaled Score to change the view. The same assessments are shown, only the scale changes from Percentile Ranks to Scaled Scores.
Each dot shows the SS for an assessment, and you can hover over a dot to see the scores for the assessment and the date it was taken. If a student took more than one assessment on the same day, only the most recent assessment from that day will be shown. - Below the chart is the same information set in tabular form. Assessments taken, Percentile Ranks and Scaled Scores, benchmark categories, and dates of assessments are all included:
The table view is the same regardless of whether the chart is showing Percentile Ranks or Scaled Scores. - Below the table is a brief skills summary for the student, outlining which skills the student is ready to learn next, and which language their most advanced skill was mastered in (English or Spanish). Icons will indicate if the skill is a focus skill
or a universal skill
.
Select See Skill Recommendations at the bottom to go to the Skill Recommendations view in the Star Record Book and review the skills this student is ready to learn. - Select Print or Save above the chart to create a PDF file which you can print or save, or select Download Data to create a .csv file which can be viewed in a spreadsheet program.
- If you print or save the report while the chart is showing, we recommend doing so in portrait mode.
- The chart is not included in the .csv file.
- Select Class View above the chart to return to the class view of the Star Biliteracy Report.
