There are a number of tasks that usually need to be done in Star Reading Spanish at the start of a new school year. Select a task to see the instructions for it.

- Get a list of things to do in all programs at the start of a new school year.
Pre-Test Preparation
- Print a list of student user names and passwords: Have this information on hand and review the procedure for logging in students.
- Read the Star Reading Spanish Test Administration Manual: Both the English and Spanish versions help you give a basic test orientation for the Star Reading Spanish test to your students.
- Review instructions for testing students: Familiarize yourself with the entire test-taking procedure.
- Stop/resume tests: Review how to pause or stop a test and how to continue a test that was paused or interrupted.
Set Preferences

Estimated Instructional Level Preference: Changes the difficulty level of the first question the student sees on a test.
- Password Requirement Preference: Determines whether a monitor password is required before students can begin taking a test.
- Monitor Password - Star Tests Preference: If a monitor password is required, use this preference to determine what that password is.
- Extended Question Time Limit Preference: Extend the amount of time a student has to answer questions.
- Star Assessments Dates and Times Preference: Define when students can take Star Computer Adaptive assessments.
